Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are fantastical faerie portraits? These are the images that I create by transforming ordinary every-day photographs of human. I add wings, sometimes a few extra features, to the 'model' and then put them onto a new background. Go to the 'Examples' page to view a few examples of my work.

2. How do you create fantastical faerie portraits? I cant tell you that! That would ruin the whole fun of it.

3. WOW, I want to learn how to do that! Will you ever teach anyone? I am sure there are quite a few people who are able to do what I do, I've just been doing it for a while. I am not teaching anyone how to create my fantastical faerie portraits at the moment. BUT, when I establish this as a business, and if demand is high enough, than I may employ a few extra computer faerie graphic artists/ technicians. Watch this space.

4. Are the final images able to be printed and framed? YES! I ensure that the quality of the finished image is high enough to allow for professional printing and possible enlargement. They also look great framed and are an interesting talking piece in any household. They make great presents. Please do not download, print or frame any of the examples from this website.

5. Will you ever sell these for a profit? Hopefully yes! At the moment I am enjoying just doing my faerie portraits as a hobby, but I am making productive moves to establish this as a business.

6. Can I have a fantastical faerie portrait done of me? Sure. Firstly, read the 'So You Want to Be a Faerie?' page, and then if you are still interested, email me for some more details.

7. What happens if I dont have a suitable photograph to transform? No problem if you live in Perth, Western Australia. I am quite willing to come out and take some photographs especially for this purpose, although you will have to cover the costs of fuel, film and developing. If you live elsewhere, I'm sorry but I cant help.

8. What is a suitable photograph? I will explain this in more detail when you email me, but basically a suitable photograph for a transformation is one where the model is slightly turned side-on to the camera, so that they are not facing full-frontal or showing any of their back. I should be able to see clearly the outline of their hair, body, clothes etc. Fully focussed and without any missing limbs, top of head etc. Poses should either be standing (either free or leaning on something), sitting or kneeling. Once again, I should be able to see all their limbs, not just part of a hand, or half their body. Like I said above, when you send me an email indicating that you are interested, after you have read the 'So You Want to Be a Faerie?' page, I will email you more details.

I shall be adding to this as you ask more questions.
